No, you didn’t read the headline wrong, beer has a number of qualities that make it an asset in your beauty regimen. It has a low pH, so it will help to tighten your hair follicles as well as remove dirt and grease from your hair. The froth in beer is also good for fighting acne because of the yeast— it helps slow down sebum production, decreasing pimples. The yeast in beer is also a good source of B vitamins, protein, selenium, potassium, iron, zinc, and magnesium. Here are a few ways to incorporate beer into the maintenance of your skin and hair:
Beer Facial Mask
Ingredients:
- 1/2 teaspoon beer
- 1 egg white
- 1 drop almond extract
Directions: Whisk it all together and keep. Wash your face with the face wash you prefer, pat dry, and apply mask directly on face. Let it dry — at this point your skin will feel very taut. When completely dry, wash your face with lukewarm water.
